Octavian Ghindea

Co-founder & CTO

Octavian Ghindea is a Romanian software engineer and entrepreneur working at the intersection of AI, retrieval systems, and field services. Based in Oradea, he runs Cytech Development, a software development and AI agency shipping production-grade products. He is co-founder of AskWhiz, a WhatsApp-based AI assistant for HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen technicians, built with Nichita after the two reconnected at Draper University in 2023. A senior full-stack engineer with deep expertise in RAG systems—powering AskWhiz's index of 65,000+ manufacturer documents across 130+ brands—he combines engineering rigor with a builder's mindset to put practical AI in technicians' hands.

Co-founder & CEO

Nichita Herput is a Romanian entrepreneur working at the intersection of hospitality, hardware, and AI. Based in Bihor, he leads Inox Line Horeca, a commercial kitchen equipment supplier, and runs The Hospitality Gear Guide on YouTube, where he reviews professional ovens and refrigeration. He is co-founder of AskWhiz, a WhatsApp-based AI assistant for HVAC, refrigeration, and commercial kitchen technicians, built with Octavian after the two reconnected at Draper University in 2023. A Hotelschool The Hague alumnus and former CEO and co-founder of B2B platform OptiOffer, he combines field expertise with a builder's mindset to put practical AI in technicians' hands.

Why we built AskWhiz

Field technicians work at the intersection of pressure, precision, and time. A walk-in cooler down on a Saturday night, a rooftop unit failing in 38°C heat, a dishwasher seizing in the middle of a dinner service — the cost of a wrong diagnosis is measured in spoiled inventory, comped meals, and a reputation that took years to build.

The tools available to field techs haven't kept up. Manufacturer manuals are PDFs scattered across portals. Forums are gold mines, but you don't have time to read fifteen Reddit threads while a customer watches you work. The newest LLMs are eager to help, but they hallucinate model numbers and confidently invent error codes.

We built AskWhiz to fix this. Three specialist bots — HVAC, Refrigeration, Commercial Kitchen — trained on real manufacturer documentation and accessible right inside WhatsApp where field techs already live. Ask in plain English, get a grounded answer, with the source documented. No app to install, no learning curve, no context switching.
