What does Bakers Pride 000 mean?

On the Cook & Hold-3 Plus (CH-100) controller used on Bakers Pride Cyclone electric and gas convection ovens, three zeros shown in the operating display mean the temperature probe has failed or the appliance has gone beyond its operating temperature. The control can no longer read a valid cavity temperature, so the manual instructs shutting the appliance off immediately and calling a technician rather than continuing to cook.

Symptoms

  • Three zeros (000) shown in the controller display during operation
  • Display no longer shows a real cavity temperature reading
  • Oven is in operating mode but the temperature value reads as zeros
  • Condition appears with a failed probe or an over-temperature event

Common causes

  • Temperature probe has failed
  • Appliance has gone beyond its operating temperature
  • Open or disconnected temperature probe circuit
  • Probe input fault at the controller

Diagnostic steps

  1. 01

    Recognize the three-zero display

Three zeros in the operating display indicate either a failed probe or an over-temperature condition, not a normal reading.

  2. 02

    Shut the appliance off immediately

The manual directs turning the oven off as soon as the three zeros appear.

  3. 03

    Do not continue cooking

With no valid temperature reading the oven cannot regulate heat safely, so do not run further cycles.

  4. 04

    Call a technician

The manual instructs calling a technician to diagnose and resolve the probe or over-temperature condition.

When to call a professional

Call a technician right away when the controller shows three zeros. The manual states this means the probe has failed or the oven has gone beyond operating temperature, and it directs the user to shut the appliance off immediately rather than keep cooking. Diagnosing whether the probe, its wiring, or an over-temperature fault is responsible, and restoring safe temperature control, is service-level work that should not be attempted by the operator.
