What does Raypak ID CARD mean?

Per the Error Display table, ID CARD indicates an identity card fault and instructs checking the ID card and its wiring. The PIM uses a model-specific ID card to configure the control for the heater; if the proper card is not detected or not securely connected, the control flags ID Card Fault and will not operate normally until it is corrected and power is cycled.

Symptoms

• ID CARD shown as the active error on the display
• Red LED steady ON with the green power LED off on the PIM
• Heater will not run
• Fault clears only after a power and system restart

• ID card not securely connected
• Wrong or missing ID card for the model
• Damaged ID card or its connector
• Wiring fault at the ID card interface

Diagnostic steps

   Check the ID card and wiring

   Per the Error Display table, inspect the identity card and its wiring for damage or loose connections.

   Confirm the proper card is connected

   Per the PIM guidance, verify the correct ID card for the heater is securely seated in its connector.

   Perform a power and system restart

   Per the manual, perform a power and system reset so the control can re-read the ID card.

   Re-evaluate the LED state

   Confirm the steady red LED clears and the green power LED returns after the restart.

   Observe operation

   Watch the heater run normally to confirm the ID card fault does not return.

Accessing and reseating the ID card means opening the control area near live electrical connections, which the manual says must be de-energized first. If the correct card is seated and the fault persists, the issue may be a failed card or PIM that requires manufacturer-specific parts.
