- Steam generator washing is deactivated
- The steam generator continues working
- The alarm can be turned off with the START/STOP key
Common causes
- Steam generator discharge solenoid valve damaged
- Steam generator discharge solenoid valve obstructed by limescale
- Limescale build-up restricting the discharge path
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Turn off the alarm
Press the START/STOP key to turn off the Er7 alarm once the message appears.
- 02
Note that the generator still runs
Be aware that steam generator washing is deactivated even though the generator keeps working, so plan for service rather than relying on the wash cycle.

Isolate the appliance
Switch off the oven at the upstream magnetothermal safety switch and let it cool before any service is attempted on the steam circuit.
- 04
Call a qualified technician

When to call a professional
Er7 should be handed to a qualified technician, since the manual attributes it to a damaged or limescale-obstructed steam generator discharge solenoid valve and instructs you to call a qualified technician to repair it. Repairing or descaling the discharge valve involves the pressurised steam and water circuit and must be done by trained service personnel with the appliance isolated and cooled.
