Baxter E27
Rack Limit Switch Error (red) — detecting up and down limits at the same time; motor timed out.

What does Baxter E27 mean?
E27 is a red rack limit switch error. The control is detecting the up and down limit switches at the same time, which is an impossible mechanical state, so the motor times out and the fault is reported. Sensing both limits simultaneously points to a switch or wiring fault. As a red error, E27 blocks heating and bake/cook cycles until it is resolved and cannot be dismissed.
Symptoms
- Red E27 "Rack Limit Switch Error" on the display
- Rack lift motor times out and stops
- Both up and down limits appear active at once
- Error cannot be cleared until fixed
Common causes
- Up and down limit switches detected simultaneously
- Shorted or stuck limit switch
- Wiring fault tying the two limit signals together
- Control input fault reading the limit switches
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Note this is a red limit switch error
Heating and bake/cook cycles are blocked until the fault is resolved.
- 02
Turn off power to the oven
Follow the red-error instruction to turn off power to the oven.
- 03
Do not operate the rack lift
Conflicting limit signals indicate a switch or wiring fault that needs inspection.
- 04
Contact a Baxter authorized servicer
The manual directs the user to contact a Baxter authorized servicer to resolve the issue.

When to call a professional
Call a Baxter authorized servicer for E27. Detecting both the up and down limits at once is an electrical fault—typically a shorted switch, miswiring, or a control input problem—that the operator cannot safely diagnose. The manual times out the motor, blocks heating, and directs contacting an authorized servicer. Tracing and correcting the limit-switch circuit is service-level work.
