What does Amana Menumaster Err2 mean?

Err2 is a display service code on Amana Menumaster commercial microwaves that points to one of several short-circuit or board faults in the control path. The manual lists four possible conditions for Err2: a shorted touch panel, a failed high-voltage board, a shorted display board, or a shorted cable running from the H.V. board to the display board. The control posts Err2 so the technician can isolate which of these is at fault.

Symptoms

• Display shows Err2 during operation.
• Oven will not run a normal cook cycle.
• Keypad presses may behave erratically if the touch panel is shorted.
• Code may clear briefly after a power cycle then return.
