Long-freeze backup timer — evaporator failed to reach 32 °F within 45 minutes after harvest closed; usually a dirty condenser, leaky hot gas valve, or low refrigerant charge.

Long-harvest backup timer — harvest cycle exceeded its time limit (typically 3 min 20 s); check hot gas valve operation, refrigerant charge, and water-distribution tube.

Water-tank actuator failed to reach the fully open position within three minutes; manually rotate the actuator and replace if it binds or the position sensor never confirms the endpoint.

Water-tank actuator failed to reach the fully closed position within three minutes; same diagnostic flow as E3 but verifies the close direction.

Evaporator temperature climbed to 140 °F or higher during harvest; verify hot gas valve closing on freeze, check for hot-water crossover at the inlet valve, and confirm the evaporator thermistor mounts tightly.

Condenser thermistor open or shorted for more than two seconds; ohm out the thermistor against the model's resistance-vs-temperature table and replace if out of range.

Control-board model-data IC / EEPROM fault — the board cannot read its own model identification; replace the board and transfer the model-specific jumpers from the original.

Evaporator thermistor open or shorted; same diagnostic as E9 but on the evaporator-side sensor that drives freeze and harvest timing.

Water-regulating-valve / low-temperature trip on remote-condenser models; check the water-cooled head pressure or the low-ambient lockout on remote air-cooled installations.

Composite fault display — the controller has logged a sub-code (E3 through Ed) and shut the machine down; press SERVICE 1 for three seconds to retrieve the actual sub-code before troubleshooting.
