What does Elitech Er mean?

Er indicates a programming or save failure. On the Elitech ETC-974A and ECS-974neo the fault table lists Er as copy-card programming failure, shown when an upload or download between the controller and the CPK copy card does not complete. On the STC-1000X the panel also displays Er for about three seconds if an error occurs while saving settings before returning to the temperature display.

Symptoms

• Display briefly or persistently shows Er
• Copy-card upload or download does not complete
• Parameter changes appear not to have been saved
• Controller returns to temperature display after showing Er

Common causes

• Copy card not connected properly during upload or download
• Copy card unplugged before the operation finished
• Unstable power supply during the copy operation
• Interruption while the controller was saving settings

Diagnostic steps

1. 01

   Reseat the copy card

   Check that the CPK copy card is firmly connected, since the manual attributes Er to a copy card that is not connected well.

   Keep power stable during the operation

   Ensure a stable power supply and do not unplug the copy card before the upload or download finishes, as the manual warns.

   Retry the upload or download

   Repeat the copy operation; a successful upload shows uP and a successful download shows do per the manual.

   Retry saving settings on the STC-1000X

   If Er appeared while saving, re-enter the parameter and save again, allowing the controller to return to normal display.

   Check the card matches the model

   If Er recurs, confirm the card and controller are compatible; a separate EP code indicates the card data disagrees with the controller model.
