Follett SERVICE
Service required indicator (accompanies amps faults or bushing-check interval)

What does Follett SERVICE mean?
The red SERVICE LED indicates the unit needs attention. On the Horizon icemaker it lights together with HI AMP during gearmotor over-current and no-current faults. On the 7 and 15 Series dispensers, the Service LED signals the 8000-hour bushing check, prompting the operator to call Follett's technical service group. It is a maintenance and fault-attention indicator rather than a self-clearing status light.
Symptoms
- Red SERVICE LED illuminated on the control board or user interface.
- On Horizon units, SERVICE lights with HI AMP during over-current or no-current faults.
- On 7/15 Series, Service indicates the 8000-hour bushing-check interval has been reached.
- Reduced or stopped ice production when paired with an active fault.
Common causes
- Auger gearmotor over-current (HI AMP) condition on Horizon icemakers.
- Drive relay energized with no gearmotor current draw (Horizon no-current fault).
- 8000-hour bushing-check interval reached on 7/15 Series dispensers.
- Underlying mechanical or drive issue requiring inspection.
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Read the accompanying LEDs
Note which other indicators are lit. SERVICE with HI AMP points to a gearmotor over-current or no-current fault; SERVICE alone on a 7/15 Series unit indicates the scheduled bushing check.
- 02
Address an amps fault first
If HI AMP is also lit, follow the HI AMPS diagnosis for the auger gearmotor and drive circuit before clearing SERVICE.
- 03
Perform the bushing check
On 7/15 Series dispensers, the manual directs calling Follett's technical service group for the 8000-hour bushing check when SERVICE appears.
- 04
Contact Follett technical service
Use the technical service number in the manual (877) 612-5086 or +1 (610) 252-7301 for the bushing check or persistent SERVICE conditions.

When to call a professional
The SERVICE indicator is, by design, a prompt to involve Follett service: the 8000-hour bushing check explicitly instructs calling the technical service group, and amps-related SERVICE faults involve the gearmotor and drive circuit behind covers carrying moving and hot parts. Have a Follett-authorized technician perform the bushing check and any gearmotor or drive diagnosis, disconnecting power before servicing as the manual warns.
