What does Krupps AL-01 mean?

On a Krupps dishwasher, AL-01 means both temperature probes — the boiler probe and the tank probe — are faulty at the same time. The control board can no longer read either water temperature, so it disables heating as a safety measure. The display shows 'AL' on the left LEDs with the code on the right LEDs, and the alarm light flashes.

Symptoms

• ALARM light flashing on the control panel
• 'AL' message on the left digit LEDs with the alarm code on the right
• Cycle start button shows red (alarm state)
• Water is not heating — heating is disabled
• Dishes come out cold, poorly washed or not sanitised

Common causes

• Both the boiler and tank temperature probes are faulty
• Probe connector on the power board disconnected or damaged
• Wiring to both probes interrupted or shorted

Diagnostic steps

   Note the alarm and request a technician

   The manual instructs the final user to request the intervention of a technician; AL-01 is not a user-resettable condition. Switch the machine off and on — if the alarm returns, service is needed.

2. 02

   Remove and replace the probe connector

   Technician check 1: remove and replace the probe connector on the power board so both probe signals are read correctly.

3. 03

   Replace the probes

   Technician check 2: replace the temperature probes, as the manual lists both probes as faulty for this alarm.

4. 04

   Power-cycle and confirm heating returns

   After repair, turn the dishwasher off and on. Heating should re-enable and the alarm should clear once both probes read correctly.

When to call a professional

AL-01 is a board/probe-level fault: the manual tells the end user to request a technician, while the actual checks (replacing the probe connector on the power board and replacing the probes) are reserved for the repair technician. If a power-cycle does not clear it, stop using the machine for sanitising loads and call qualified service — working inside the power board and probe wiring requires a trained technician.
