What does Silko AL mean?

AL is the minimum temperature HACCP alarm on Silko refrigerated units. The controller records it when the cabinet temperature falls below the configured low-temperature threshold. As a HACCP entry it stores the minimum chamber temperature reached during this type of alarm. The instrument keeps up to three HACCP alarms and shows the critical value, alarm duration, and alarm type when the record is reviewed.

Symptoms

• "AL" is stored as a HACCP alarm with the HACCP LED indicating a saved alarm.
• The recorded critical value is the minimum chamber temperature reached.
• Cabinet contents may be colder than intended, with possible product freezing.
• The alarm duration is logged (from 1 minute up to 99 hr 59 min).

Common causes

• Set point configured too low for the stored product.
• Faulty or miscalibrated chamber sensor reporting a low temperature.
• Controller running in a protective fixed cycle that overcools.
• Thermostatic or control fault leaving the compressor running too long.

   Press SET to read the stored AL alarm details, including the minimum temperature reached and the alarm duration.

   Verify the working set point is appropriate for the product being stored and has not been set too low.

   Verify the chamber sensor

   Confirm the chamber sensor reads correctly, since a faulty probe can drive the temperature below the low threshold.

   Check stored items near the airflow path for unwanted freezing that signals overcooling.

   Use the recorded critical value to decide whether any product was affected before resuming normal use.
