Silko AH Error Code

Maximum temperature (HACCP) alarm on refrigerated units

Source: Silko/Silko_SUTN_UserManual_CK_ML.pdf

What does Silko AH mean?

AH is the maximum temperature HACCP alarm on Silko refrigerated units. The controller records it when the cabinet temperature rises above the configured high-temperature threshold. As a HACCP entry it stores the maximum chamber temperature reached during this type of alarm. The instrument can save up to three HACCP alarms and shows the critical value, the alarm duration, and the alarm type when reviewed.

Symptoms

  • "AH" is stored as a HACCP alarm with the HACCP LED indicating a saved alarm.
  • The recorded critical value is the maximum chamber temperature reached.
  • Cabinet contents may be warmer than the safe set point.
  • The alarm duration is logged (from 1 minute up to 99 hr 59 min).

Common causes

  • Door or drawer left open or opened too often, letting warm air in.
  • Dirty condenser or restricted airflow reducing cooling capacity.
  • Hot or high-water-content food loaded into the cabinet.
  • Refrigeration fault such as low charge or a failing component.

Diagnostic steps

  1. Review the HACCP record

Press SET to read the stored AH alarm details, including the maximum temperature reached and the alarm duration, to gauge the severity.

  2. Check the door and gasket

Confirm the door closes fully and the gasket seals; address frequent or prolonged door openings noted in the manual as a temperature cause.

  3. Inspect and clean the condenser

Check the condenser is clean and that airflow around the technical compartment is not restricted, as the manual lists these as causes of high temperature.

  4. Review the load

Avoid introducing hot or high-water-content food too often, which the manual identifies as a cause of high cabinet temperature.

  5. Assess product safety

Use the recorded critical value and duration to decide whether stored food remained within safe limits before continuing use.

When to call a professional

Operators can correct door, loading, and condenser-cleaning issues that cause high-temperature alarms. If AH persists after these checks, the refrigeration system may have a fault such as low charge or a failed component, which the manual says requires an authorised technical support centre. Disconnect power before any internal work, especially on R290 units.
