Convotherm E01
Not enough water reaching the combi oven.
Source: Convotherm/CLE-OGB-10.10_iom.pdf
What does Convotherm E01 mean?
The oven's error diagnosis system has detected that not enough water is reaching the unit. The combi needs an adequate water supply for steam generation and condensing, so the control stops normal operation and displays E01 until the supply is restored. The manual lists a closed water tap, a contaminated solenoid valve dirt filter, or a faulty solenoid valve as the conditions behind this message.
Symptoms
- Display shows error code E01 with a "Not enough water" message
- Steam functions stop or the unit will not run a steam cooking program
- Combi interrupts operation until water supply is restored
Common causes
- Water tap to the oven is closed
- Solenoid valve dirt filter is contaminated
- Solenoid valve fault
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Open the water tap
Confirm the manual water supply valve feeding the combi is fully open, the first remedy the manual lists for E01.
- 02
Remove and clean the dirt filter
The solenoid valve dirt filter can become contaminated and restrict flow. Remove it and clean it per the manual.
- 03
Check the incoming water supply
Verify the building supply to the oven is on and delivering water before assuming an internal fault.
- 04
Call customer service for a solenoid valve fault
If the tap is open and the filter is clean, the manual attributes E01 to a solenoid valve fault and directs you to call customer service.

When to call a professional
If the water tap is open and the dirt filter has been cleaned but E01 persists, the manual attributes the remaining cause to a solenoid valve fault and instructs you to call customer service. Replacing or repairing solenoid valves on a plumbed and electrically connected combi oven should be handled by a qualified Convotherm by Cleveland authorized service representative.
