What does Convotherm E22 mean?
E22 reports a core temperature sensor fault. The core temperature probe measures the internal temperature of food during probe-based cooking. When the control detects a fault with this sensor it displays E22; the manual's remedy is to set a cooking program with time instead and to call customer service for the sensor itself.
Symptoms
- Display shows error code E22 for core temperature sensor fault
- Probe-based cooking programs will not run correctly
- Core temperature reading is missing or erratic
Common causes

Diagnostic steps
- 01

Check the core temperature probe and its hanger for obvious damage before assuming an internal fault.
- 03
Power-cycle the unit
Switch the combi off and on to confirm whether the fault clears.

When to call a professional
You can keep cooking with time-based programs, but the manual directs the core temperature sensor fault itself to customer service. If the probe is visibly intact and E22 still appears, contact a qualified Convotherm by Cleveland authorized service representative to test and replace the core temperature sensor so probe cooking works reliably again.
