What does TurboChef F9 mean?

F9 (CC Temp) signals that the catalyst has "flashed" due to excessive grease. In the Bullet the catalytic converter cleans recirculating airflow, and when it is clogged with grease and debris the combustion temperature in the air path spikes, which the control reports as F9. It is tied to the filtering system and indicates the oven needs cleaning to prevent a cook-cavity fire.

   Clean the rear vent and run the scheduled quarterly cleaning so the air path is not clogged.

   Service the catalytic converter

   Clean the catalytic converter with TurboChef Oven Cleaner, rinse thoroughly with distilled water, and let it air dry before reinstalling.

   Avoid damaging chemicals

   Do not use degreasers containing phosphates, NaOH, silicates, sodium, or potassium salts, which cause irreversible catalyst damage; use only TurboChef Oven Cleaner or distilled water.
