What does Convotherm E42 mean?

Convotherm shows E42 — ConvoSense camera / optics error — on the maxx pro combi oven range. This is a collective ConvoSense camera/optics code: the display may show any of several related messages — inadequate or excessive brightness, a request to clean ConvoSenseOptic, a camera or left/right distance-sensor fault, or a camera/LED-board over- or under-temperature — so identify the exact message shown before acting. The manual lists these reasons: Camera is dirty; Ambient brightness is too high for the camera; Reflections from the surroundings are too strong; and others. The control flags the fault and holds the affected function until the message is cleared.

Diagnostic steps
