Power failure alarm

What does Everlasting PF mean?
PF is the power-failure alarm. The controller raises it to indicate that mains power to the cabinet was interrupted. The manual provides parameters governing how long a power failure must last before it is stored (A10) and the type of power-failure alarm signalling (A12), so PF flags that a supply interruption occurred and that the cold chain may have been affected during the outage.
Symptoms
- PF shown on the display alternating with the cabinet temperature
- Alarm LED lit and buzzer sounding after power is restored
- Cabinet temperature possibly raised because cooling stopped during the outage
- A power-failure event recorded if the outage exceeded the storage threshold
Common causes
- Mains supply interruption or outage to the cabinet
- Tripped breaker, blown fuse, or disconnected plug
- Loose or damaged supply connection at the socket or terminals
- Deliberate power-down without clearing the resulting alarm
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Verify power is restored
Confirm the cabinet is energised again and reading the cabinet temperature; the PF alarm reports an interruption that has occurred.
- 02
Check the supply
Inspect the plug, socket, fuses, and supply line, since the manual lists these as the checks for a cabinet that has no power.
- 03
Assess the cold chain
Check the current cabinet temperature and the HACCP log to judge whether product temperature rose unacceptably during the outage.
- 04
Clear the alarm
Acknowledge the PF alarm on the controller and confirm normal cooling has resumed.
- 05
Escalate repeating outages
If power failures recur without an external supply cause, contact technical support to check the cabinet's electrical connection.

When to call a professional
Call a qualified electrician or Everlasting technical support if PF recurs with no obvious external outage, since repeated interruptions can stem from a faulty supply connection inside the cabinet. The manual restricts electrical repair to authorized specialist personnel. After any extended outage, evaluate product safety using the HACCP record before relying on the affected food, as the cold chain may have been broken.
