What does Everlasting Pr3 mean?

Pr3 signals a condenser probe fault. The controller uses the condenser probe to monitor condensing temperature for the high-condensation and condenser-overheated warnings and to manage the condenser fan. When this probe fails, the controller can no longer read condenser temperature, so it cannot reliably detect a dirty or overheating condenser, and condenser-fan control that depends on this reading is compromised.

Symptoms

• Pr3 shown on the controller display alternating with cabinet temperature
• Alarm LED lit and buzzer active
• High-condensation (CSd) and overheated (COH) warnings no longer reliable
• Condenser fan control may behave abnormally

Common causes

• Condenser probe failed or out of range
• Probe lead broken, pinched, or disconnected
• Loose or corroded connector at the controller terminals
• Probe dislodged from its position on the condenser

   Read the display for Pr3 alternating with the cabinet temperature and note the alarm LED and buzzer are active.

   Inspect the condenser probe wiring

   Power down and check the condenser probe lead and connector for breaks, pinching, or looseness at the controller; reseat any loose connection.

   Check probe placement

   Verify the condenser probe is secured in its correct position on the condenser and is undamaged.

   Clean the condenser

   Because condenser-overheat protection is impaired, inspect and clean the condenser per the maintenance chapter to reduce the risk of overheating while the probe is faulty.

   Probe replacement is reserved for authorized service; arrange repair with the dealer or technical support.
