Everlasting Pr2
Evaporator probe fault
Source: Everlasting/User Manuals/Master - Classic - Professional - Roll-in _ Roll-through.pdf
What does Everlasting Pr2 mean?
Pr2 indicates the evaporator probe is damaged so the controller cannot read evaporator temperature. The manual states that with this fault, defrost and ventilation are no longer governed by probe parameters; instead the controller falls back to a safety program, running defrost on a maximum-time basis and keeping the fan active while the compressor works. Cooling continues but defrost timing is no longer optimised by temperature.
Symptoms
- Pr2 shown on the controller display alternating with cabinet temperature
- Alarm LED lit and buzzer active
- Defrosts occur on a fixed maximum-time schedule rather than on demand
- Evaporator fan stays active whenever the compressor runs
- Possible ice build-up or reduced efficiency from non-optimised defrost
Common causes
- Evaporator probe failed or reading out of range
- Probe lead broken, pinched, or disconnected
- Loose or corroded probe connector at the controller
- Probe dislodged from its mounting on the evaporator coil
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Confirm the code
Check the display for Pr2 alternating with the cabinet temperature, and note that defrost and ventilation are now running on the safety program rather than to probe values.
- 02
Inspect the evaporator probe wiring
Power down and examine the evaporator probe lead and connector for breaks, pinching, or looseness at the controller terminals; reseat anything loose.
- 03
Check probe mounting
Verify the probe is still secured to the evaporator coil in its correct position and is not damaged.
- 04
Watch defrost behaviour
Because defrost now runs on maximum time only, monitor the coil for excess ice while the fault persists.
- 05
Contact technical support
The manual identifies the evaporator probe as damaged and reserves replacement for authorized service; arrange repair with the dealer or technical support.

When to call a professional
Contact Everlasting technical support if reseating the connector and checking the probe lead do not clear Pr2, since the manual states the evaporator probe is damaged and probe replacement and electrical work are reserved for authorized specialist personnel. The cabinet keeps cooling on a safety defrost program, but prolonged operation without proper defrost control can ice the coil and reduce performance, so do not defer the repair.
