What does Randell dOr mean?
On a Randell prep table with the Carel controller, dOr is the open-door alarm. It indicates the controller has detected a door or drawer left open, or a door switch reporting open, long enough to trigger the alarm. An open door lets warm air into the cabinet and can drive the temperature up if it is not closed.
Symptoms
- Display shows dOr with the alarm LED lit
- A door or drawer is visibly open or not fully sealed
- Cabinet temperature begins to rise
- Compressor and fans may run longer than normal
Common causes
- A door or drawer left open or not fully closed
- Gasket torn or out of place preventing a full seal
- Door or drawer not seating properly in the cabinet
- Faulty door switch reporting open
Diagnostic steps
- 01
Close the door or drawer fully
Confirm every door and drawer is shut and seated; the manual's troubleshooting list calls out a door or drawer ajar as a cause of a warm unit.
- 02
Inspect the gasket
Check the gasket for wear or being out of place and reposition it so the door seals, as the manual advises for a unit running warm.
- 03
Verify the drawer slides freely
Make sure drawers slide fully and seat properly when closed, as covered in the manual's drawer installation guidance.
- 04
Confirm the alarm clears
Once the door is closed and sealed, verify the dOr alarm clears and temperature recovers toward the set point.
- 05
Contact service if it persists
If dOr stays on with all doors closed, the door switch may be at fault; contact service at 888-994-7636.

When to call a professional
The open-door alarm is usually owner-clearable by closing the door and reseating the gasket. Call a Randell Authorized Service Agent if the alarm persists with every door confirmed closed, which points to a door-switch or controller-input fault. The manual directs that any electrical or controller service on these R290 units be performed by factory-authorized personnel; reach service at 888-994-7636.
