What does Perfect Fry BASKET MOTOR mean?

On a PFA-series fryer this SYSTEM ERROR means the basket motor has been obstructed. The fryer beeps twice, displays the alert, and de-energizes the heating element while the fans run. The cause of the obstruction must be located and corrected before the fryer is returned to normal use so the basket motor can raise and lower the basket again.

Symptoms

• Fryer beeps twice when the error occurs
• Heating element is de-energized while fans run
• Basket does not raise or lower into the oil correctly

Diagnostic steps

   Find the obstruction

   Check for the cause of obstruction before returning the fryer to normal use.

   Clear the jam

   Correct the cause of the obstruction so the basket can move freely.

   Reseat the basket

   Confirm the basket is installed properly, with the rod in the pivot slot and motor coupler.

   Confirm the error clears

   When corrected the fryer beeps twice to signal OK and resumes HEATING.
