What does Perfect Fry GREASE FILTER mean?

On a PFA-series fryer this SYSTEM ERROR means the grease filter is not installed properly. The unit beeps twice and displays the alert, de-energizing the heating element while the fans run. The fryer will not heat normally until the grease filter and its tray are correctly seated in the filter chamber and the condition clears.

Symptoms

• LCD shows *** SYSTEM ERROR *** PLEASE CHECK GREASE FILTER
• Fryer beeps twice to signal the error
• Heating element is de-energized while fans continue to run
• Unit does not return to normal operation

Common causes

• Grease filter is not installed properly
• Grease filter does not sit correctly in the grease tray
• Filter and tray are not properly installed in the filter chamber

Diagnostic steps

1. 01

   Seat the grease filter in the tray

   Check that the grease filter sits in the grease tray with the magnet on the right-hand end.

2. 02

   Install the tray

   Make sure the filter and tray are properly installed in the filter chamber along their rails.

3. 03

   Reinspect alignment

   Confirm nothing is preventing the tray from seating fully toward the back of the compartment.

4. 04

   Confirm the error clears

   When corrected the fryer beeps twice to signal OK and resumes HEATING.
